MELB NOTE writes for beginners, but beginner-friendly does not mean context-free. Every guide should make its scope visible, place the practical answer first and avoid turning a label, tendency or general reference value into a universal rule.

Source hierarchy

For standards, safety, health, caffeine and technical claims, we prefer official agencies, standards bodies, professional organisations, original research and manufacturer documentation where the claim is product-specific. Secondary sources may help explain context, but they should not be the only support for a strong material claim when a primary source is available.

Claim and scope checks

  • Write the subject, conclusion and condition together so a sentence remains accurate when quoted on its own.
  • Keep serving size, product, method, unit and uncertainty close to any number or comparison.
  • Label broad sensory tendencies as tendencies, not promises.
  • Do not present general information as individual medical, allergy or safety advice.
  • Keep important explanations in readable HTML, not only inside images or interactive elements.

Review and corrections

Published guides should show a review date when the format supports it. A refresh can correct wording, clarify scope, update a source or strengthen internal links while preserving a useful URL. When a material error is identified, MELB NOTE records the correction in the repository and updates the public page through the normal review and approval process.

AI assistance and editorial accountability

AI tools may assist with research organisation, drafting and repetitive formatting. They do not replace source checking, editorial judgement, human review or publication approval. MELB NOTE does not use AI-only schema, artificial content chunking, keyword stuffing, mass question variants or guaranteed exposure claims as a substitute for useful content and accessible search fundamentals.
